🏏 Garmin Fenix 5 Plus Altimeter Issues

Fenix 5x Plus - no GPS signal. seth586 over 3 years ago. My watch suddenly stopped getting a GPS signal, the connection bar stays red when I start a new activity. Waiting for a signal and never get a lock. I even left it in an open field for an hour to try to get a position fix, nothing. Firmware: 15.3 (updated to beta, didn't fix) Since updating my unit, the altimeter consistently varies wildly. For example, every morning my unit (which I sync at night at my home) s significantly less than it should be. My home is at 162m ASL but since the v7.00 update, leaving it on my counter over night, I will wake up to it showing 40m or even a few times -100m, etc. Since update to V12 firmware, I'm experiencing issues with the altimeter of my Fenix 5. A few hours after the upgrade, on December 14th, I went for a 11km run and got totally messed up elevation data. I live in Belgium (Minimum : Sea level - Maximum: 600m), and I had a minimum altitude of -500m and a Max of 10649m (Screenshot 1) Wondering if it is a common fault, as after 6 months of having my second Garmin Fenix 5S I am having the following issues: altitude, barometer and temperature all stuck at set altitudes. I have followed Garmin's troubleshooter and clean my watch regularly. Fenix 5X+ - the most wobbly tracks by far. Distances seem in the ball park, but the tracks look poor. Fenix 6X Solar - very close to the V800. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. V800 edges it overall. Some say that the Forerunner series is better than Fenix due to plastic shell vs metal and better satellite signal as a result. Garmin has released new Beta software for Fenix 6, MARQ, Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S smartwatch owners. Beta Version 24.85, an update for the Fenix 6 and MARQ smartwatches, brings two bug fixes to Along with cleaning the connectors, try this. With the watch not connected, hold three buttons down (light, down and start buttons) for 15-20 seconds and try charging again. 9829024 over 3 years ago +8 verified. I just finished chatting with Erica from Garmin Support Centre. The chat took less than 10 minutes and resulted in them sending me a I have a recently purchased a new Fenix 5 plus, I am having major accurate pace information display issues on the watch during runs. On my old Garmin 620, I would normally run between 07.30 to 09.00 min per mile pace This new Fenix 5 plus today showed on the watch while I was running 07.00 to 14.00 min per mile Theory: There have been changes to parameters that block altitude changes due to ambient presssure changes while the user is not moving (a lot). The change was introduced on Fenix 7 before it made it to the Fenix 6. My workaround: yellow notes on the door that remind me to set the altimeter to Auto when I go out, and to Barometer Only when I 198K subscribers in the triathlon community. The watch collects elevation and pressure data continuously, even in low-power mode. The altimeter displays your approximate elevation based on pressure changes. Hi, I have garmin fenix 5X and my altimeter/barometer not working properly. When a try to calibrate it it says calibration failed. During activity it miscalculate elevation by +30-50%. Also it is not counting stairs/flights i have always 0. Also barometer not showing anything. Fix potential issues with altimeter and barometer readings. Changes made from version 14.73 to 15.00: Fixed an issue where one wasn't able to create custom alerts within an activity. Fixed distance and time values for tracks/routes synced from Garmin Explore. Fixed an issue where Training status would no longer update via Physio TrueUp. Garmin - Chris over 2 years ago in reply to 3304570 +1 verified. 1) Calibrate your barometric altimeter prior to your activity if the elevation is a concern during your indoor activity. 2) During your activity, if anything interferes with the barometric altimeter port…. theasterism over 4 years ago in reply to Civi +5. Garmin Fenix 5x here. I had a similar problem, now I manually calibrate the height. I turned off automatic calibration using GPS. And most of the time it shows the correct measurement, except when the barometer starts going wild because the altimeter moves as the barometer works. .
